Kate McGarry

I am a freelance producer & Production manager based in Greater Manchester but I can work on projects across the UK.

I am a recent graduate from Edinburgh Napier, a top 3 ranked course for filmmaking in the UK. My four years there taught me so much; I worked across various projects, from documentaries to art films and varying lengths of fiction projects in several genres. I specialise in producing and production management, and the tailored education I received has given me an in-depth insight into the role and prepared me for working in the industry.

The power of filmmaking has always inspired me to work with the medium. I currently have aspirations to work in the TV industry. TV is a fascinating industry area as the longer format allows for more in-depth storytelling where character work can shine. And it is the character-lead stories which I want to tell; they are great avenues to explore nuanced emotional narratives and offer intricate landscapes to discuss specific social and political issues.

I am a hardworking and goal-orientated individual which has helped me achieve high grades in practical and written assignments. I cannot wait to bring my skill set to the table and get to work in the industry.
